The promos arrived!

SixtyPromosToday the “Sixty”-promos arrived and we’re very happy with them. There’s a very limited number of copies and it will only be given out to a handful of people on saturday and to some other close folks. But we’re looking forward to record some more stuff with Monorail in the near future and being able to present and give out a proper release.
Stay tuned for more.

Done!

// 19.07.2009 // 23:33 // General

After a couple of delays regarding the recording sessions for “Sixty” we’re happy to tell you people that it’s done now and the outcome is quite good. It’s a strange thing with recordings – it’s never perfect for your own ears and you always find things you could improve. Personally I think we’re way better live but that’s for you to decide. Next saturday some people will be able to listen to and judge about it and we’re very excited about that. One day before the festival gig on September 12th Charlie Mo And The Rocketeers will play at a benefit concert in a venue called “Café Leben” in Harburg. Needless to say that it’s for free and we would be very happy to see you guys there.

“Charlie Mo” Gigposter

// 09.07.2009 // 12:01 // General

SixtyIt’s done – the posters for the upcoming Charlie Mo-gigs are here. They were created by “Karoshi”, our new project we founded for small bands with small budget. Karoshi will also create flyers, the cd-cover and a gigposter for “The Black Stains”, another great young band playing the same day as Monorail is at the festival in september.

Recording on monday!

// 08.07.2009 // 11:31 // General

Next monday we’re going to record a couple of songs for the single “Sixty” at Soundhouse. We’re rehearsing every day now and things seem to be up and running  for the “Charlie Mo”-project. We can’t wait to play the songs live, only two more weeks to go. We added “Just A Little Closer Now” from Sivert Høyem’s 2nd soloalbum “Exiles” to the setlist, in case people want us to do an encore.

Biography added

A short biography has been added today. I’m not very good at stuff like this but I hope it’s okay for you people. Also, we are almost done with the posters and flyers for the gig in september. We’re going to post them as soon as they’re completely done. Stay tuned.

Sixty

// 18.06.2009 // 13:41 // General

SixtyWe’re working like mad on the single “Sixty” and today we finished the artwork for it. Since it’s only Heike and Benjamin playing songs, they decided not to go out as Monorail. “Sixty” will be released by “Charlie Mo And The Rocketeers” and the tracklist will be:
01. “The Cool Song
02. “Me And Bobby McGee
03. “This Old House

Rehearsing

// 17.06.2009 // 22:41 // General

We’re currently rehearsing material for the upcoming gig in july and a festival in september. The great song “The Frontman” has been added to the setlist today.

Recording

// 14.06.2009 // 21:03 // General

We’re going to record some new songs in june. These will not only include Madrugada material but some other goodies as well. Some of them are going to be released on an upcoming single called “Sixty” which will be available in a very limited edition at an intimate gig in july, which will feature Heike on accoustic guitar and Benjamin’s throat instrument. Since the rest of the band is not with us and the reduced way of sound works pretty good, the idea of also playing some gigs unplugged came up. We’ll see how things are going to turn out in july and keep everyone posted.

First gig!

// 19.07.2008 // 20:31 // General

We did it! Yesterday we performed on stage together for the first time ever. We played 2 songs from our first EP “The Wedding EP” at a very close friend’s wedding. I was really nervous but the crowd was in a good mood, clapped hands and applauded like nuts after “Lucifer“. A good way to continue with the 2nd song “What’s On Your Mind” which sounded really good in that venue. The folks even yelled for an encore, thanks big time for that. We promise to play more songs in a different venue very soon. And we hope to see you guys there.

Thanks for an overwhelming kick-off-evening! There’s a lot more to come….

First EP!

// 16.07.2008 // 18:53 // General

Yesterday we met our very dear friend Uwe Minio from Soundhouse and recorded 3 songs for our upcoming EP. It will feature cover versions of “Look Away Lucifer“, “What’s On Your Mind” and the unreleased “Passenger 39“.

We are going to play these songs at a friend’s wedding on July 18th which we are very excited about! When we attended a recent Madrugada concert in May our friends were blown away by their performance, especially because of “Lucifer“. So we decided to finally do something about our long-time-wish and rehearsed these songs for quite some time to perform them on their wedding. And because everything turned out so good, we decided it’s worth recording and will make them a nice present.
